Most productive witch hunt in history

Today is a big day for justice.

First, we have Michael Cohen, Donald Trump's former lawyer, who pleaded guilty to tax fraud, false statements, and campaign finance violations.

Cohen paid a porn star to cover up an affair with Donald Trump, specifically to influence the 2016 election. And Cohen says these payments came at Trump's request.

Next, we have Paul Manafort, Trump's campaign chair, who faces up to 80 years in prison for tax fraud, bank fraud, and hiding foreign accounts.

I only have two things to say about these two men.

  1. This is the most productive witch hunt in history.

  2. The level of criminal activity around, and if Cohen is right, BY Trump should have every American, regardless of party, thinking about how we rebuild the standing and respect due to the American presidency.

Here's my bottom line: if Cohen's statements are correct, and Donald Trump ordered him to violate campaign finance laws to influence the election, then it is imperative that special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation be allowed to proceed.

This is only the beginning. To end the investigation now would do a disservice to our democracy.
