Bridgeport Puerto Rican Parade Pics

Jim and Team Himes were out in full force at today's 15th Annual Puerto Rican Day Parade in Bridgeport - supporters, a huge float, balloons, and a whole lot of pressing the flesh at one of the largest parades in the state of Connecticut. Flip through the slideshow here:

The pr parade was great. only in bridgeport can you have a great time like that. im very certain jim himes will win Bpt easily i hope you really make big effort in bridgeport to get out the vote. becaue if you think you going to win in dariean you are wrong. so himes remember bridgeport should be your key place to be. and it was great to have you in our community

Puerto Rican pride is as good as any other ethnic pride.  But since Himes is running to US Congress, wouldn’t it be nice if he also held the American flag?

A lot of us came from the deep south years ago.  If there was an Alabama day, would we like it if he held just an Alabama flag?

Bpt pride, that’s just plain silly.  Chris Shays was holding a huge Puerto Rican flag too.  And the Jim Himes float had a big American flag on the front.  On St. Patrick’s Day, some politicians wear green or have an Irish flag.  On Columbus Day, some politicians carry an Italian flag.  Puerto Rico is part of the United States, albeit not a state.  There’s nothing wrong with holding a Puerto Rican flag.

Go Jimmy Himes!  And good job Himes volunteers on such a nice float!
